BCH X SEACHF Project – Supporting Pediatric Cardiac Surgery

Bangkok Chain Hospital Public Company Limited (BCH) has continuously supported pediatric cardiac surgery since 2004, in collaboration with the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation (PCSF). The initiative aims to help underprivileged children born with congenital heart disease gain access to safe, high-quality medical treatment in accordance with international standards.
Under this collaboration, Kasemrad Hospital Prachachuen and hospitals within the BCH network have received pediatric patients from across the country for free cardiac surgery. In addition, BCH has organized mobile medical units to conduct pediatric cardiac screening in various provinces, identifying and referring patients who require timely surgery and specialized care.
In 2023, BCH was involved in treating 148 pediatric cardiac patients, and since the program’s inception, more than 2,800 children have received life-saving heart surgery. BCH also participated in the “Save the Hearts of Little Children Across the Mekong” project, providing treatment for children with congenital heart disease from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, the Thai Red Cross Society, the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, the Lao Ministry of Public Health, and Mahosot Hospital, offering treatments free of charge while also supporting medical capacity building in pediatric cardiac surgery within the region.
