BCH Invests 300 Million Baht to Launch Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center “Kasemrad Aree Radiation Oncology Clinic”

On August 14, 2024, Bangkok Chain Hospital Public Company Limited (BCH) held the Grand Opening Ceremony of “Kasemrad Aree Radiation Oncology Clinic,” led by Professor Dr. Chalerm Harnphanich, Chief Executive Officer of BCH and Chairman of Kasemrad Aree Radiation Oncology Center Co., Ltd., and Associate Professor Dr. Somporn Harnphanich, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BCH. The event was honored by executives from BCH’s hospitals, business partners, and distinguished guests.
The Kasemrad Aree Radiation Oncology Clinic is the first specialized radiation oncology clinic in Nonthaburi Province, offering a comprehensive range of radiation therapy services using state-of-the-art technology throughout the treatment process. The clinic is equipped with advanced medical devices, including a CT Simulator and a Linear Accelerator (LINAC), capable of delivering various radiation therapies ranging from conventional external beam radiotherapy to advanced stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).
With an investment exceeding 300 million baht, BCH established this clinic in collaboration with the Bangkok Cancer Research and Treatment Center Co., Ltd. to meet the increasing demand for cancer treatment each year. Within the BCH network, which serves more than one million Social Security and insured patients (as of 2023), over 6,543 cancer patients were treated, receiving a total of 9,815 radiotherapy and brachytherapy sessions.
Cancer remains a growing public health concern in Thailand, with approximately 140,000 new cancer cases annually, or about 400 new cases per day. Radiation therapy plays a crucial role across multiple stages of cancer treatment, whether with curative or palliative intent. The clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of experienced radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiologic technologists, and specialized oncology nurses, each bringing over 40 years of combined expertise to ensure patients receive high-quality, safe, and effective care that meets international standards.
This initiative underscores BCH’s commitment to expanding access to world-class cancer care, reducing the burden on public healthcare services, and enhancing the quality of life for Thai people through advanced, patient-centered treatment and sustainable healthcare innovation.
