Wake Up Waste: Circular Actions for a Better Planet

Bangkok Chain Hospital Public Company Limited collaborated with SCGC (SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited) to implement the “Wake Up Waste” project, which promotes a systematic waste management approach under the Circular Economy concept. The project aims to reduce landfill waste and minimize environmental impact.

The initiative focuses on waste segregation and recycling, particularly plastic waste, which is processed into new products or alternative materials. This helps create value from existing resources and supports sustainable resource circulation.

In the initial phase, the project was launched at Kasemrad Hospital Prachachuen and Kasemrad Hospital Ramkhamhaeng . Both hospitals collected and sold recyclable materials such as plastic bottles, resulting in a reduction of approximately 980 kilograms of carbon dioxide (kgCO₂) emissions equivalent to the planting of 81 large trees.

Overall, the project encourages participation from employees at all levels to separate waste at the source, while raising awareness of efficient resource management in alignment with the organization’s sustainability goals.
